If you're in the mood for some gambling, check out our game :)

https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2025/rate/3961535

Played and rated! Cool game :D

Loved the artstyle, simple but very well executed and effective. Gameplay works smoothly, even if it was a bit hard for me to see the crowbar, maybe you could put it in a spot where it's more visible, or you could highlight pickup objects with a specific shader to make them clearly visible. Overall a nice short experience, keep up the good work, looking forward for the updates!

Thank you for playing the game! We agree that the game could benefit from some balancing and pacing changes, this is the version we were able to cook up in 7 days which in our opinion works. but there is so much room for improvement! Thank you for appreciating the aesthetics and the overall experience <3

Thank you for appreciating our game and for the very insightful comment! Some of your suggestions are actually spot on, like zooming on the enemy when it's their turn, or a small prompt suggesting the possibility to move the camera. We can add those easily, maybe in the future when we have some time to spare. The idea of ramping up drama over time makes a lot of sense, that's another aspect deserving to be analyzed further. As you can imagine we just barely had time to figure out a working version of the game loop in 7 days, so we didnt even consider doing something more for the jam.  Thank you again for the feedbacks and suggestions <3

Rated! Nice game btw. Here's mine https://itch.io/jam/scream-jam-2025/rate/3961535. Hope you'll enjoy!

Nice game, the aesthetics is on point and the vibe is pretty scary! Still it was quite difficult at the beginning to understand how to proceed, even if the possible actions were limited but not very straightforward.
Beside this, I appreciate the actual voice used and the general vibe. Keep going!

What a clever and creative idea! The feel of the controls is also very nice and fitting for a squid-like alien. I especially appreciated the smooth motion of the tentacles, very nice touch! The human face conveyed with tv screens is also very smart and is what encouraged me to try the game, so good job on that. The gameplay is extremely simple but manages to convey some emotions, so I think overall you did a very cool job! :)

Cool game! It was quite difficult at some moments but enjoyable. The three shotguns in the kitchen counters were funny but maybe one could have been enough ahahah for the rest, very clever puzzles!

Wow, this was an incredibly polished, simple yet and immersive experience, somewhere between a puzzle and a platformer, very unique idea! The grapple hook is incredibly simple, immediate to understand and polished, yet it enables all sorts of  puzzles and tricks. On that note, props for the really creative and clever level design.

I think this is one of the best games of the jam I've played in terms of general polish and clarity. I could see this game being expanded into a deeper puzzle experience!

I love that I was sure that the choices had basically no impact whatsoever, yet I spent a good amount of time reflecting on some of those ahaha Anyway cool submission, I love this essential minimal games with nearly zero mechanics, that yet manage to do something really unique. The idea of knowing other players' wishes is really cute and well executed. The game also has this cool cryptic vibe that leaves room for interpretation. The flash at the end really made me jump off my chair, I hate you. Cool game <3

Nice game! I liked the cyber twist of the fake reality where you are trapped.
My suggestions would be to be very careful on fine-tuning as a level has to remain difficult but not frustrating. Furthermore, an input buffer (for a jam is an overkill, but it really does help) would be so great!
Anyway, really good job (also considering you are a solo dev!!), I really felt the pressure to reach the end of the level!

https://alex-artuso.itch.io/nishik I'll rate your game!

Overall very clean polished experience for just one week of development! The black bands are a very clever and effective way of conveying  a sense of claustrophobia, really great idea. Also the crawling mechanics are simple but really clean and they all make immediate sense, so that's very cool. Maybe it would have been cool to also play with the FOV when going in/out tunnels or when entering/exiting tight sections. The map were intuitive and easy to understand, maybe except the last one, where I didn't immediately get the correct sequence of turns that I had to do, so I went a bit trial and error in that case (but maybe it's just me). I'm not a big fan of jumpscares but at least you made them sparse and kinda justified, so they served their purpose. Overall very nice creepy experience, exploring caves is something that I find deeply terrifying and your game made a great job in immersing me in that situation!

Thank you for playing the game and for trying to understand the rules <3

Thank you for playing the game! The two enemies models are actually two small wooden statues that we 3D scanned and customized since we found them funny but also creepy. (you can find a photo below in our answer to the first comment!)

Regarding rules, we just updated the game with an improved tutorial, and also with some minor quality of life improvements. We would be happy to know what you think of the updated version!

Regarding your opponents not losing fingers, be mindful of the Shield Ring item, which protects a finger for one round. The opponents probably used that item to protect themselves! Nonetheless, we appreciate all the feedbacks and appreciations for the aesthetics and vibe! <3

Guys, I have it all, is this what peak life looks like?

Super funny concept, also very well realized!! The interactions with the neighbors were hilarious ahahah good job!!

I found really funny the burgers-skeletons concept as the skeletons in fact don't have a stomach. The jump curve gives a quite good feel, but the fact that I can't see where I'm going is pretty frustrating. Nice job, keep going!

I agree on what other people said about the motion sickness of the camera. Apart from that, the feeling of the arrow is anyway pretty good. Nice simple game!

The dark man is actually scary! After taking the first note though it is pretty difficult to take the other ones while having to watch him constantly. Anyway, good job!

Thank you for playing the game! We will definitely try to work on improving the game experience in the future, thank you for the precious feedbacks <3

I think this is the best jam game I have played so far. This is really an amazing game considering you had only a week. It's deeply inspired, disturbing, mysterious, and sent tons of shivers down my spine.  The Dies Irae in the ending was the cherry on top. On the other hand, I didn't fully grasp the story, only the main vibes and themes. Maybe I lost some interactions, or maybe you kept it intentionally cryptic (which I think is also understandable given your inspiration from Lynch works).

Amazing stuff, keep making great games!

That has to be the nicest neighbor I have ever seen!

Very cool small game, from visuals, storytelling and concept, great job. Also love the detail of the plant slowly dying. The typing mechanic can be a bit annoying and passive, but I personally had fun "roleplaying", typing back what I personally wanted to reply to the AI, and sometimes I got almost exactly the same answer lol. Great job :D

This is definitely one of the most immersive and scary jam games I've played yet. The story hook is simple but it instantly got me, and I loved the buildup of tension. The ending climax worked perfectly too. If I had to nitpick, it might have been interesting to include some more creepy elements tied to the answers the player gives at the start, like the birthday, mother name etc...

Really good job, keep making games!

Thank you for playing the game! We know that runs can be quite long right now, and we’re working on balancing this aspect. Still, victory is possible if you plan carefully and make smart use of your items!

The Hook lets you peek at an opponent’s dice, so you know exactly what score you need to beat. The Smasher is a more aggressive tool, you can use it to break an opponent’s finger, making it harder for them to top your score. We hope you’ll give the game another try and see how far you can go!

Nice game, very well tuned with the pacing and the atmosphere. The fish was indeed very scary! (outer wilds memories of Vietnam)

Wow, that was a cool experience! I love this analog horror style, and it pairs extremely well with these classic puzzles, very reminiscent of Resident Evil games. Maybe it had some purpose that i missed, but its so funny that you just put a headless flamingo just for the sake of bonus spooks! Also in general I liked the attention to environmental details to tell a story. Everything contributes to a really tense and creepy atmosphere... Also nice little short and gruesome story with a cool ending, great job!

Nice prototype! The music is really cool and really sets the right mood for some frenetic shooting action!

Concerning game feel, everything is still in its early stages but I think you are going in the right direction. For example, I would suggest adding a crosshair so I know exactly where I am shooting. Also its not clear if the enemy pickups are useful for something. Do they give me health? Score? Or is it just placeholder?

Keep making games! :D

Really cool experience! The Deer feels quite scary and ominous, and it creates this constant tension that makes even simple actions like looking for objects feel urgent and anxious. Great concept!

The deer itself is really well done and ominous, though I wasn’t totally sure when or if it could open doors. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn’t. If that was intentional, it was quite funny since I kept trying to trap it inside rooms to buy a few more seconds to solve the puzzles. Without this trick i don't know if I would have managed to solve all of them. I also found a small bug where I could access the bedroom with the screwdriver puzzle even without having the screwdriver (the door was open with the screwdriver thing floating in space). Not sure how it happened, but thought I’d mention it.

I also liked the overall aesthetics, and the ending in particular was cool, good job! :)

Thank you for taking the time to understand the game, and for the awesome feedbacks! We are currently working on vastly improving the tutorial instructions and the overall clarity of the experience. We realize that a gradual introduction to the game rules would have been ideal, but unfortunately we had to rush that part toward the end of the jam, and it shows. We also considered going deeper into the randomization process of the items. As you said, right now the items are almost purely RNG, and there is no doubt that rethinking the item spawn process could benefit the game a lot.

Who knows, maybe we will develop the project further in the future, but we are very glad you enjoyed it even in its current state!

Thank you for the feedback! We agree that the gameplay can be a bit tricky to pick up at first. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to create a proper step-by-step tutorial, but we’ll definitely work on making the tutorial sheet more visible.

Really glad you enjoyed the inspiration and visual style! Inscryption was a huge influence for us too ;)

Thank you! :D

Thank you for playing our game!

The wardens appreciate your compliments.
